donk dominates at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024

on

It was business as usual in the first few days at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, with donk dominating in his first appearance since the PGL Major Copenhagen. We’re walking you through the first few days of competition, to see exactly how the tournament has progressed so far.

Despite donk and Spirit‘s six-week absence from the server, the team hasn’t missed a beat. It was a successful debut for Spirit at BetBoom Belgrade 2024, taking down Aurora in a clean opening 2:0 series. Heroic followed, with Spirit delivering the same scoreline, a reminder of why just a couple of months ago, we were discussing this roster as the best CS2 team on the planet. Now, Spirit find themselves in the Playoffs, marked as big favorites for the tournament.

It should come as no surprise to learn that both matches were the donk show. This kid continues to defy all Counter-Strike norms, all without any changes to his trademark hyper-aggressive style. With Spirit looking to retain its BetBoom Dacha title, the donk MVP is already loading. He just makes CS2 all the more exciting, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store now that his Playoffs run is secure.

MOUZ make a clean Playoffs run

Despite having no break between tournaments, MOUZ are showing no signs of fatigue at BetBoom Belgrade 2024. They started as they left proceedings in Malta at ESL Pro League, in winning form to make the Playoffs of the tournament. BetBoom were up first, and MOUZ dispatched them handily. They even got their first taste of Dust 2, making the transition to the newest map in the pool look easy. Virtus.pro proved a tougher challenge, but MOUZ had what it takes to come out on top.

For standouts of MOUZ, the potent duo of torzsi and xertioN still look as menacing as they did at EPL. Their form in Belgrade has been immense so far, despite a small sample size of matches. We think these two playing like this is the only hope anyone has of dethroning Spirit in this tournament.

BetBoom and Aurora first out

For late entrants BetBoom, who replaced Cloud9 due to the latter not having a roster, this wasn’t a particularly long stint in Belgrade. Defeats to MOUZ and Falcons meant they were sent swiftly packing, and they were probably unfortunate to find themselves facing two of the better teams in the tournament one after the other.

Aurora fared no better. Losing their opener to Spirit was understandable. Expected, even. However, losing to MIBR 2:0 is a rough series, no matter how you justify it. These two teams are the first out at BetBoom Dacha 2024, and won’t be particularly pleased with their showing here.
