Joel Moscatel secured his 2nd Challenge Tour title of the season at the “Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge” thanks to a thrilling playoff victory over Benjamin Hébert.
The Spanish champion, co-leader at the start of the last round, made 4 birdies and 2 bogeys, scoring a 70 for the day to finish at -14, tied with the Frenchman Hébert, who delivered a score of 67 strokes (-5).
Moscatel’s par on the first playoff hole was enough to secure victory at the Golf PGA France du Vaudreuil.

“I’m very happy,” he said. “The day wasn’t easy. I had many opportunities to make birdies and then fought for par.”
This is the second victory of the season for Moscatel, after the inaugural title won last month at the Challenge de España in Seville.
The Dutchman Wil Besseling shared 3rd place with the Spaniard Quim Vidal and the Englishman George Mason, at -13, while the Dane Christoffer Bring and the Englishman Jamie Rutherford are tied for sixth place, one stroke further back.
The Road to Mallorca players arrive at the Golf PGA France du Vaudreuil for the second consecutive event in France for the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge scheduled for Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th June.
Built along the banks of the Seine, the Golf PGA France du Vaudreuil is a par 72 parkland course measuring 6,391 metres, featuring holes set between tree-lined fairways and a circular lake that comes into play at numerous parts of the course.
The venue has hosted golf since the 1960s and the golf complex also traces the history of Le Vaudreuil, with information on each tee telling the story of the local area from the Bronze Age and Vikings through to the construction of the golf course golf in the modern era. Further historical details can be admired in the clubhouse, which is a 17th century barn dismantled brick by brick and then rebuilt within the estate.
2024 marks the 11th edition of the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge, with several past winners going on to achieve further success on the DP World Tour.
The 2014 winner, Andrew “Beef” Johnston, then won his only tournament on DP World at the 2016 Open de España, while the 2015 champion, Ryan Fox, holds four titles. The 2016 winner, Alexander Bjork, claimed victory at the Volvo China Open in 2018 and was joined in that year’s winners’ circle by 2017 champion, Aaron Rai, with victory at the 2018 Honma Hong Kong Open.
Richard McEvoy won in 2018 and the following week he triumphed at the Porsche European Open to set a record as he became the first player to win consecutively on the Challenge Tour and the European Tour.
This week’s field includes several top players, including five-time DP World Tour winner Alex Levy, who plays at home this week, four-time winners David Horsey and Marc Warren, as well as Chris Wood, who has won three titles on the major circuit. Joining them will be John Parry, who took his second victory of the 2024 Challenge at the Blot Open de Bretagne last week. The Englishman will now aim for a third victory of the season which would allow him to gain automatic promotion to the DP World Tour for the remainder of this season and the 2025 season.
With some Italian Challenge players busy in Cervia for the Italy Open, Filippo Bergamaschi, Davide Buchi, Federico Livio and Michele Ortolani will take to the field in France.
