The Bengals have now lost their first and second-string nose tackles from the 2023 season.

The Cincinnati Bengals won’t be keeping Josh Tupou.

After letting DJ Reader leave for the Detroit Lions earlier this offseason, the team is now losing Tupou, who just signed with the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3, 340-pound Tupou signed with Cincinnati after going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft. He has played every season since, except 2020, when he sat out due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has 23 starts in 65 games while registering 86 tackles, six QB hits, two sacks, and one forced fumble.

Last season, Tupou appeared in 14 games (one start) while notching 19 tackles, one QB Hit, one tackle for loss, and no sacks.

Like Reader, Tupou was the kind of big-bodied interior lineman that most NFL teams have several of. Now, the Bengals’ biggest defensive tackle is rookie McKinnley Jackson at 6-foot-2 and 331 pounds.

After him, the next biggest lineman who played regular snaps last season is the 6-foot-3, 311-pound BJ Hill.
