Microsoft Plans To Put Black Ops 6 on Game Pass, It’s Claimed

on

It has been claimed that Microsoft intends to add Call of Duty 2024 (potentially Black Ops 6) to the Game Pass service from the day it’s released. This would mark a historic milestone in the history of the franchise, as no Call of Duty game has ever been included as part of a subscription service at launch. This claim comes from an article published in the Wall Street Journal, and it states that this action would be part of a ‘major shakeup’ of Microsoft’s ‘videogame sales strategy’.

However, it was further claimed that the addition of Call of Duty on Game Pass would see a new tiering arrive for the service. There will inevitably be a ‘Game Pass Pro’ or something akin to that which would allow players to access extremely prestigious games like Call of Duty at launch. It’s hard to see a world in which Microsoft gives up the most highly anticipated Call of Duty game in years for the paltry return of a one-month subscription to Game Pass.

Will Black Ops 6 Be On Game Pass?

Since acquiring Activision Blizzard, Microsoft has been under scrutiny by gamers and regulatory bodies alike. One of the biggest questions that’s still floating around concerns the impending availability of Call of Duty on Game Pass, the company’s groundbreaking subscription service. It has always been known as a solid value-for-money offering, but the addition of the Call of Duty franchise to Game Pass would make it a cosmic and unparalleled service.

Presently, all we have to go on are rumours and bouts of conjecture from insiders and those close to Activision Blizzard. Until it’s confirmed by the company – or by Microsoft – we can’t say for sure that Black Ops 6 – if that’s what it’ll be called – will be on Game Pass.

However, there’s a bold and ambitious showcase scheduled to take place on June 9 that’ll reveal all. It’s an extended reveal of the next Call of Duty game and it’ll likely see the scope of the title broken down – and that’s where Activision Blizzard and Microsoft could join forces to reveal it’ll be launching on Game Pass.

Until then, stay switched on to Esports.net – I’ll have the latest Call of Duty news when you need it.
