A new Ring of Honor television champion has been crowned, and it didn’t take place in ROH or AEW. The title changed hands in CMLL. Kyle Fletcher traveled to Arena Mexico to defend the gold against Atlantis Jr. on Friday night (June 28, 2024).

After a lengthy match, Atlantis Jr. poured on the pain with an avalanche sunset flip piledriver, a frog splash to the back, and a frog splash to the front. 1, 2, 3, new champion!

Fletcher’s TV title reign ends at 196 days. Atlantis Jr. becomes the 32nd ROH TV champion.

Time will tell if Fletcher gets a chance to run it back on his turf. An appropriate setting would be the ROH Death Before Dishonor PPV on July 26 in Arlington, TX.

This moment is a another highlight in the burgeoning relationship between AEW and CMLL. Add it to the list of Mistico debuting in an AEW ring, the Blackpool Combat Club traveling to fight in Arena Mexico, Bryan Danielson wrestling his favorite luchador, Mercedes Moné making a surprise appearance to confront Stephanie Vaquer, and Chris Jericho ambushing Mistico, which also happened on Friday night.
