New XDefiant Patch Makes It Easier To Level Up Weapons

on

Ubisoft has just released Y1S0.4, a fresh patch that introduces a few key changes to XDefiant. Since May 21, XDefiant has been on the market and readily available to users worldwide, and it has already garnered positive reviews and stellar feedback, despite a few teething issues. In the latest patch, Ubisoft has made it easier to level up weapons, addressing a key concern of players regarding the ‘grind’ to unlock attachments on various weapons.

Elsewhere, Ubisoft has addressed the game’s netcode and some tweaks to gameplay elements. It’s a sizeable update that’s welcomed, even if it’s nothing compared to the major update that’s coming with season one of the game, due to drop on July 2.

Y1S0.4 makes it so that it’s easier to level up weapons and unlock key attachments. Primary weapons now require just 3,000 XP to level up, as opposed to 3,500. Secondary weapons have also been tweaked, with the required XP to level up being amended from 1,500 to 1,000. It’s a retroactive change, too – that means that every weapon you’ve used could receive a sizeable boost the next time you log on.

However, there’s bad news for those chasing those all-important Weapon Mastery skins. Ubisoft has made another change to counter the more rapid weapon levelling, and that has seen it become harder to unlock Weapon Mastery skins: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. That’s the trade-off – faster attachments, slower Mastery.

Elsewhere, Ubisoft has addressed a recoil-based issue with the MDR when using a particular skin. The team has also patched out a rather humorous bug that saw character models standing bolt-upright after being killed. It wasn’t hurting anyone, but it wasn’t normal, so it has been eradicated. All these changes have been implemented alongside the usual quality-of-life improvements that are standard with these kinds of updates, including an amendment to the game’s netcode that improves bullet registration.

On July 2, the first proper season of XDefiant will go live, introducing a new faction, three new maps, and some fresh weapons.
