Projected Role: Extra Training Camp Defensive Lineman/Practice Squad Candidate
His 2023: Hector started his year by getting drafted in the XFL. He signed with the Jets during training camp but was among the cuts at the conclusion of the preseason. Hector then bounced between the practice squads of the Texans and the Jets. He was activated for the team’s Week 16 loss against the Cleveland Browns and was promoted to the active roster prior to the Week 18 win over the New England Patriots. Hector played a total of 37 snaps and had 2 takcles.
2024 will be a success if: Hector shows enough to once again earn a practice spot slot and plays credible football if called upon due to injuries. Hector is turning 30 in October. He’s been bouncing around the league for six years without ever carving out a role for an NFL team. There isn’t enough upside, and the Jets have too many roster locks to expect him to contend for the 53 man roster.
