Who has been around WCG the longest?

I first stumbled upon Windy City Gridiron in 2009, and the above logo welcomed me to the website. I started coming here because the usual site I wrote at, The Sporting News, eliminated the social aspect that made it so popular, and after four years of having an outlet for my Chicago Bears thoughts, I needed to find a new home.

I tried out a couple of other message boards, but I liked how WCG let us write in our own section while having a knowledgeable, passionate, and active community.

The immediate feedback and interaction is

I dropped my first Fanpost on April 15, 2009, which was my take on a Superfans script predicting the 2009 season. I did about ten more Fanposts while learning my way around the community before I was asked to be a front-page writer for the site.

(Shout out to Adam and Dane wherever you are!)

My first published article as an official WCG writer was on June 25, 2009, and it was a breakdown of Lovie Smith’s Tampa 2 defense.

In my fifteen years here at WCG, the Bears have only had three winning seasons, and I’ve written over 7,600 articles and added nearly 16,800 comments about them.

I’m more than ready to write about a winner.

Now it’s your turn.

How long have you been a member of Windy City Gridiron?

And if you’re just a lurker, now is as good a time as any to join and jump in the comment section!
