Road to 2024 NFL season is just more than a month away

The Las Vegas Raiders’ journey to the 2024 — the first full season under head coach Antonio Pierce — kicks into gear in just over a month.

The NFL announced training camp dates for all 32 teams Tuesday morning. The Raiders’ rookie draft picks and undrafted free agents will report Sunday July 21 and the veterans will report Tuesday July 23. Thus, the team’s first full training cap practice will be held July 24 in preparation of the regular-season opener on September 8 at the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium, which is just 82 days away.

Here is the full 32-team reporting date list:

The Raiders are moving their training camp from their Henderson, Nevada facility to Costa Mesa, California at the Jack Hammett Sports Complex. New Las Vegas general manager Tom Telesco trained there for several years with the Chargers.

A major focus of training camp, of course, will be the quarterback battle between incumbent Aidan O’Connell and free-agent signing Gardner Minshew. It doesn’t appear to be an early leader in the battle that will probably won’t be decided until after the preseason.

Yet, training camp will be a major part of this competition and it it all starts in just five weeks.
