WWE’s been running an angle in which NXT wrestler Brooks Jensen claims to have been released from the company. Fueled by his heavy drinking, Jensen’s angry at the folks at the Performance Center — and particular the man in charge, Shawn Michaels.

Jensen’s crashed live events and television tapings. On one occasion, he was seen being led away from the building in handcuffs. Then last week, the second generation wrestler (son of WWE veteran Bull Buchanan) even cost NXT champion Trick Williams his match against Shawn Spears, which help set up the 4way main event we’re getting this Sunday at Heatwave.

On the July 2 episode, Michaels addressed the situation. It turns out Jensen wasn’t released, but instead was “asked by NXT management to take a sabbatical to clear his head” after he spiraled following the break-up of his long-time tag team with Josh Briggs.

HBK, no stranger to addiction himself, believes in second chances, and he’s invited Brooks to show up next Tuesday for a sit-down with NXT General Manager Ava to discuss his future.

On social media, where he’s changed his handle to his real name, Jensen responded with the date and a video of some alcohol being poured down the drain.

At one point in this story, there was a lot of speculation that Jensen/Buchanan might show up on Impact as part of NXT’s ongoing crossover with TNA. It still may, but is seems WWE may use it to address some more serious issues first.
