Silver Minings: Former Raider Bo Jackson enters the Royals Hall of Fame

Bo Jackson gets honored by the Kansas City Royals and enters their Hall of Fame

Las Vegas Raiders legend Bo Jackson has been a fan favorite for years. Even though he didn’t last long with the team his impact on the fan base is forever entrenched in Raiders lore.

Jackson was signed in 1987 after deciding to play baseball instead of playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played four seasons with the Raiders while playing baseball for the Kansas City Royals. The former Auburn Tiger was unstoppable in the video game Tecmo Super Bowl which helped leave his mark in the NFL lexicon. He was having a breakout season in 1990 before a brutal hip injury ruined his career during the divisional playoffs vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. He went on to finish his baseball career retiring in 1994.

during Saturdays baseball game between the Royals and Cleveland Guardians he was honored by the Royals. He entered their Hall of Fame as one best plays to ever play for the franchise.

Jackson was an All-Star with the Royals in 1989 with his infamous breaking of the bat and stealing an home run during the All-Star game. He will always be a legendary athlete from his college days at Auburn adding in the memories from pro football and baseball.
