The Twins are planning to select the contract of right-handed pitching prospect David Festa, reports Bobby Nightengale of the Star Tribune. The 24-year-old will be called up ahead of Thursday’s series finale against the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Minnesota has an open spot on the 40-man roster, although the team will still need to make a corresponding move to add Festa to the 26-man roster. He will take over for a recently injured Chris Paddack in the Twins’ rotation.
More to come.
