Seth Rollins may not have an obvious WrestleMania 34 booking after Jason Jordan’s injury, but it looks like WWE have big plans for ‘The Kingslayer’ after the event.
According to Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rollins will likely be Roman Reigns’ first Universal Title challenger should his former Shield brother take Brock Lesnar’s championship in New Orleans. This is dependent on Reigns winning this weekend’s Elimination Chamber, but given that him vs. ‘The Beast’ has been rumoured since last summer, this seems a safe bet.
If you were wondering why WWE have spent the past few weeks heating Rollins up, this is why. Though he has been absent from the singles spotlight for a while, he was the star of this week’s gauntlet match, pinning Reigns and John Cena during an epic 65-minute in-ring stint. Now, it looks like his main event return is imminent.
Rollins was the heel the last time him and Rollins faced each other. Meltzer’s write-up speculates that Roman could play the bad guy if they feud again, but whatever happens, the big positive is Seth being positioned as a major singles star again.
