WWE legend Big Show set to reitre after his contract expires

The Big Show has appeared to announce his retirement from wrestling after the expiry of his WWE contract.

The 46-year-old has been with the company for 19 years but his run officially came to an end this past week.

The 7ft monster, real name Paul Wight, arrived in 2000 and became a seven-time world champion.

He has claimed he will walk away from wrestling with “no fuss” and take enjoyment from watching the next generation of superstars progress.

“No last matches, no fanfare, just ride off into the sunset and disappear,” he told SportingNews.com.

“That’s more my style. I’ll find something else to do that is inspiring – and let these new kids take the business and the reigns and let them build the future.

“I wish them all luck. Everything changes. We’ve got a great group of talent that deserves the spotlight.”

Big Show hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since September, when he underwent hip surgery.

There has yet to be any official word from WWE, but Show, speaking on his future plans, added: “I may work in some sort of ambassador capacity for WWE.

“I’m going to try to pursue a course with this Jetsons cartoon. I’ve pestered Seth Green, who is like the cartoon king, to get me some more cartoons.

“I’ll try to do some more films, and that’s my transition. I’ve had a great career and I’m really thankful for everyone I’ve worked with, but everything comes to an end.”
