As she told SoloWrestling (via Wrestling Inc):
“[Going over to Raw] and having new challenges and a new crop of women’s [talent]… maybe that would be the best look for me. I love SmackDown, I love the people on the brand, I love the crowd here, I love the vibe. But, I guess if I think what I always want to do is go for championships, and if that’s not in my future on SmackDown, well then I want it to be in my future somewhere else.”
Lynch was the first woman drafted to SmackDown Live back in July 2016 and was also the first champion of the blue brand following the creation of its own title. After 84 days with it, she dropped it to Alexa Bliss and while she’s flirted with the main event scene in the women’s division since then — considering how the show is written, if you’re in the division you’re always flirting with the main event scene — she’s taken a backseat to the current champion, Charlotte. With Asuka electing to challenge for that title at WrestleMania 34, it’s fair to wonder if a change of scenery is just what Becky needs.
There have been rumors of another Superstar Shakeup after WrestleMania next month, where Lynch will almost surely be wrestling in the Women’s Battle Royal. Perhaps a victory there would kick off another strong run for a perennially underutilized talent.
