Did this WWE 2K18 WrestleMania edition trailer confirm a dream match between John Cena and The Undertaker for WrestleMania 34?
WWE fans have been waiting for weeks at this point for any confirmation of a match between John Cena and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34. Cena has teased it on RAW multiple times, and all signs point to the match happening in a few weeks. However, a WWE 2K18 video may have confirmed it for everyone.
2K is releasing a “WrestleMania edition” of the latest installment in their WWE 2Kseries, and put out a new trailer on YouTube to hype up the release. The video featured clips of some already announced ‘Mania matches, like AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, Charlotte and Asuka and Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. One match sticks out, however, and it’s because it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
The trailer shows Cena and ‘Taker battling under the WrestleMania lights, with a clip of The Undertaker’s legendary entrance and the Deadman’s iconic dive over the top ropes onto Cena.
While it could just be promoting the fact that The Undertaker is in the game, and putting a big name like Cena in a virtual match with him to show what the game’s full capabilities are for dream matches, there may be something else to it. Every other clip features a real match happening, and it’s hard to believe they just threw the clip in there alongside that for nothing.
After all of the waiting and speculation about what Cena’s Road to WrestleMania entails, it looks like a video game is the one thing we all needed to get our final answer for the whole situation. Or, on the flip side, it could just be a perfect troll job on WWE and 2K’s part, and we may just be falling for it.
