Charlotte didn’t know if Asuka would choose her after winning the Royal Rumble until Fastlanelast month, but she’s always maintained that’s the match she wanted for WrestleMania 34 on Sun., April 8, 2018, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Why?
As she explained to Robbie Fox at Barstool Sports:
“Because she has so much respect from the WWE Universe and fans worldwide, and she’s different. For me it’s more because there’s such a… I’ve never faced her. No one’s even seen a singles, a tag, nothing from NXT; we have never crossed paths and that is something special in our industry. Because, I mean, you’ve at least wrestled once, right? How have we never touched?”
It will indeed be a special match for the two never having crossed paths before this — this on top of the fact that it’s a title vs. streak match. Having said that, they’re also running a risk, considering the two have never had time to work together and learn each other. We’ll get to see in real time what kind of chemistry they have.
They’re both great at what they do, though, and they’re getting a big spotlight for what should be a very interesting match.
