Rusev gives John Cena “Fan Of The Week” shoutout

There might not be a single WWE Superstar who enjoys trolling the fans and fellow wrestlers on Twitter more than Rusev. The Bulgarian George Clooney recently named John Cena his “Fan of the Week”, continuing his expert trolling of the Invisible One.

Last night on WWE Raw, John Cena gave Rusev quite the shoutout. Although Cena’s promo was another unsuccessful callout of the Undertaker that involved him desperately trying to get the fans to persuade The Dead Man into coming out of retirement to face him, he did spend some time putting over members of the WWE roster. Cena praised Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, for example, as they both had an excellent match on Raw that night.

Cena then admitted that WrestleMania falls on Rusev Day.

If you thought this was a fluke, it wasn’t. Because as Rusev will have you know, Cena is a card-carrying member of the Rusev Fan Club, and he’s clearly the type of guy who is counting down the days on his official Rusev Day calendar in anticipation for RusevMania. It also explains why he’s so desperate to have a match with the Undertaker, as it would be a shame if he were unable to compete at RusevMania.

There’s no doubt that Cena looks a lot better in that shirt than he does in his current lime green merch, which is, as usual, color-coded to this year’s WrestleMania logo. It’s probably better than the Florida Gators knock-off gear he wore last year or the Budweiser merch, but it’s nothing compared to this Happy Rusev Day shirt. I mean, the Bulgarian flag alone puts this on a whole different level from anything Cena has ever worn, and I’ve seen his Mark Price throwback jersey as “Thuganomics” Cena.

Anyway, Cena’s admiration for Rusev has been well-established. Remember when Rusev gave a shoutout to his “best friend” for sending him a copy of WWE 2K18? Yeah, there’s history here.

There’s also RusevMania history between Cena and Rusev, because they had a feud over the United States Championship that culminated in Cena defeating him at RusevMania 31.

At RusevMania 34, Rusev will take on Jinder Mahal, Bobby Roode, and current champion Randy Orton in a Fatal Four-Way match for the United States Champion. And if the WWE had any sense, they would have Rusev reclaim the US Title on Rusev Day.
