According to Pwinsider’s Mike Johnson, one source within the WWE told him that Rusev had been unhappy at how he was being used and had asked for his release from the sports entertainment company.
If you recall, he was originally scheduled to compete in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Thus, this is reportedly the reason that he was added to the US Title Match at WrestleMania 34.
