WWE.com has removed all ticket purchasing links and venue location information for their November 2nd event, originally entitled Crown Jewel, from their website. The show, which was set to take place at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has been under heavy controversy since reports of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi went missing in early October, and possibly assassinated by the Saudi government. As noted that Turkish officials claimed they had audio and visual evidence of Khashoggi’s murder inside of the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
This is not a confirmation that the show won’t still take place, but backup plans call for most of the matches on the card to be moved to be moved Survivor Series. The World Cup tournament could possibly be cancelled all together.
UPDATE: According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Crown Jewel is still scheduled to take place, even with all the noise regarding the venue location and ticket links being removed.
WWE says Saudi Arabia show is still on as scheduled.
