On today’s episode of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Bubba Ray Dudley agreed with Dean Ambrose’s assessment of the WWE back when he appeared on Steve Austin’s podcast.

Ambrose’s appearance on the podcast is notorious in that it was contentious. Ambrose didn’t want to answer the questions that were being asked of him, which led Austin to challenge him to step up and do more from a creative standpoint. Ambrose’s response at the time was that the creative landscape in the WWE didn’t allow him to do the things that he wanted to do. His response was met with negativity from the WWE Universe at the time, but Bubba Ray revealed that upon reflection, he agrees with Ambrose.

Bubba On Ambrose’s Comments On Steve Austin’s Podcast:

I was backing Dean up after I heard that snippet of the interview. I was with the WWE when Dean did that sit down [with Steve Austin]. Everything that Dean said to Steve was 100% true. Me and D-Von were experiencing it the same way Dean was and me and D-Von had something to compare it to when it was the wild west and you could do the things that you wanted to and then we were there when you couldn’t do the things you wanted to do.

On Why Ambrose & Austin Had Different Mindsets:

Austin [comes] from the era of WWE where there were no rules and if you could get yourself over, you get over. He was like, “Come on, kid. You’ve got all the tools. When am I going to see you really bust out? When are you going to have your ‘Austin 3:16′ moment?’ Dean is basically saying, ‘I wish I could, man, but I can’t.’ He was honest, he was truthful, he was right.
