Yesterday, WrestleVotes released a statement on Twitter stating that AEW had made an “outstanding” offer to a current superstar on the WWE roster. An offer so substantial, it was too good to turn down. See the Tweet below.
Seems like the first real shot has been fired… source says AEW has made an “outstanding” offer to a current, big time WWE superstar. An offer that is almost too good to turn down. Things are really about to get interesting.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the superstar in question is Randy Orton. However, Sapp specifically states that he does not know if Orton has been offered a contract, but does know that Orton has been openly discussing his willingness to speak with AEW. Sapp also states that he spoke with AEW, and they’ve denied any attempts to tamper with ongoing contracts for WWE superstars.
I am not saying this person (Orton) was offered an AEW deal. I am not saying that happened because I don’t know if that happened. In fact I asked people in AEW about this and I was told:
“We are not tampering. We are not doing that. Our approach is…fresh and independent is the goal for the majority of our recruitment. What you’re likely seeing is a particular agent trying to leverage more money out of WWE by possibly planting shit like this.”
Sean goes on:
What I was told this afternoon is that Randy Orton has been openly discussing his willingness to speak with All Elite Wrestling.
