EC3 recently joined the “Gorilla Position Podcast”. During his interview, he discussed his time in NXT. Most notably, he believes that he could have been used much better than he was. Here is what he had to say:
Man I wasn’t there too long — ten to eleven months. I kinda… a lot of what I did there is something nobody sees. A lot of what I did there was things I wanted to hone and work on to prepare me for this. So it was a lot of work in that sense as opposed to… [wrestling and appearing] on TV was cool, the ladder match of course was great, and [I] had some good TV runs with Undisputed ERA, little feud with Velveteen but it was what I did behind the scenes, what I did in the P.C., what I did on shows in little Florida. Take back my game a couple steps, prepare it for when this opportunity did come so, I can’t think of the right parallel… to maybe sports.” EC3 continued, “A lot of the work was done, not with the red light on and NXT is awesome. What a brand, phenomenal talent. I don’t have regrets, but I have, ‘Man I could’ve done… there’s so much more that could’ve been done’, but at the same time, my number was called. This is what I want, this is where I am, this is where I wanna be so, the work prepared me for this. I don’t wanna say it was unfulfilled but definitely more, I could’ve done… man, I really wanted to throw Ricochet into the blazing sun.” He laughed. “I just really wanted to do that, but, no, it was great. Great brand. Great future. Excellent product so, very fortunate to be a part of it even if it was just a very small part.
