According to the Wrestling Observer, Vince McMahon was initially hesitant to release Dustin Rhodes from his WWE contract, but reports state that his son-in-law, and company COO Triple H, talked him into it. Rhodes’ agreement with the WWE came to a conclusion on January 19th, with a 90-day non-compete clause ending less than a week ago. The next day…Rhodes released a video challenging his brother Cody Rhodes to a match at AEW’s Double or Nothing. He would also release a statement thanking the WWE for his many years of employment.
