According to the Wrestling Observer, former IMPACT world and tag champion Pentagon Jr. suffered a leg injury during Monday’s IMPACT tapings from Toronto. Pentagon was involved in a triple-threat match with Johnny Impact and newest roster member Michael Elgin, and took a bad bump off a frankensteiner attempt that reportedly almost broke his neck. He would not be involved with the finish of the matchup as Elgin pinned Impact to become the new #1 contender for the world title. Post-match Pentagon would be helped to the back due to not being able to apply pressure to his leg. He is said to be recovering well, and that the early indication is that it’s just a stretched muscle. His leg has been taped up since.
Currently, Pentagon, along with his brother Fenix, is not scheduled for another IMPACT taping until Slammiversary this summer. Rumors are that he’ll be signing an exclusive contract with AEW, and only be working with AAA outside of that company. The Lucha Bros are both still being used in MLW, but founder Court Bauer says that he’s expecting them to finish up any time now. They face the Young Bucks at Double or Nothing this month for the AAA tag titles.
We’ll keep you updated on Pentagon’s condition.
