On today’s episode of “Wrestling Observer Radio”, Dave Meltzer noted that there has been a noticeable shift in the television industry when it comes to how they view the wrestling industry. The current belief is that wrestling is currently “cold”. Meltzer noted that the feeling isn’t that the entire industry has or is collapsing, just that it’s going through a down time.

This news is particularly interesting in its timing as AEW is expected to finalize their television deal shortly. It is unclear as to whether or not the shift in belief will affect AEW’s ability to obtain a favorable television deal, but it is something that it worth keeping an eye on.
