Lars Sullivan has issued an apology for the controversial comments that he made on an online message board, according to PWInsider.
The apology from Sullivan reads like this: “There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago. They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended.”
As noted, some of the comments made by Sullivan were made after he signed with WWE. They were racist, homophobic, anti-religion, among other offensive remarks.
It was reported this week, via @Wrestlevotes, that WWE officials were aware of the comments, but that they were hoping the controversy “stays low and disappears.”
As noted, Big E took to Twitter on Wednesday and responded to a fan who asked about the controversial comments after they were compiled on Reddit in a single thread.
Big E wrote, “Many are aware. If true, he has to bear the albatross of being a bigot & working in a company that is now filled with minorities.”
