WWE has a big Smackdown TV episode coming up very soon – the Smackdown 20th anniversary show. WWE has not confirmed the date of the milestone episode but in the past the 5th anniversary, the 10th anniversary and the 15th anniversary episodes have aired between September 23rd and October 10th. WWE Smackdown moves to FOX on Friday October 4th, which means the 20th anniversary episode may air on the USA Network or the FOX network.

You can expect to see special Legends making appearances at the Smackdown 20th anniversary show. Dave Meltzer reported on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that an original pitch for the first Smackdown FOX episode, on October 4, was for it to essentially be the Raw Reunion episode that is airing next week in Tampa.

Meltzer previously reported that the Raw Reunion episode was pitched by USA Network representatives, when they also pitched the WWE 24/7 Championship idea.
