Last month we reported that the storyline which included Roman Reigns being flattened by a scaffolding was going to be leading to a match between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan. All signs of this speculation seemed to add up as Daniel Bryan’s “career changing announcement” was postponed twice before being dropped entirely just in time for this storyline to begin. Management decided just before SummerSlam that a match between the two at the second biggest event of the year would come off as too rushed, so neither man had a match on the card.

It’s now being reported that the storyline is being written week-by-week and that the only person who knows the endgame is Vince McMahon. He’s keeping all of the details close to the chest. This is leading some to question whether or not Rowan being the attacker is just a red herring or if he really did it.

Some details that aren’t adding up are the disappearance of the Erick Rowan lookalike, the video of Erick Rowan leaving the scene of the backstage attack shows him entering and leaving from the opposite side of the scaffolding, WWE on Twitter announced already that it was temp worker who bumped into it on a forklift, and that Rowan slamming Daniel Bryan through a table wouldn’t make sense if this is all leading to Daniel Bryan being behind the attacks.

Kim Dylla – known for fitting wrestlers with new gear – posted a picture of Rowan with the caption “Just finished fitting my good friend [Erick Rowan]” with the “#JustVikingThings.” There’s no word yet on if his new gear will include his metal rockband t-shirts, but she did also tag #metalshirt club.
