Adam Swift, a former AXS TV employee who was responsible for bringing pro-wrestling to the network, released a statement on Twitter regarding his departure. Swift worked at the Dallas office, which was recently shut down following Anthem Entertainment’s majority purchase of AXS in a sale announced yesterday. Swift was a major factor in bringing Ring of Honor to HDNet back in 2009. He writes, “This is my last week at AXS TV after 11 amazing years. Proud of all that we accomplished, blessed to have worked with so many wonderful people, and excited for the next adventure.”

AEW superstar and VP Cody Rhodes responded to Swift’s tweet, thanking him for bringing an alternative product to television.
Thank you for helping bring wrestling to AXS. A lot of folks(myself included) benefited greatly from an alternative wrestling product being on tv. Thanks for being an ally to the sport.
