According to the PlayStation Vu numbers, AEW was viewed three times the amount as NXT. This is AEW’s first night live on TNT while NXT has been on USA for three weeks. AEW was pushed heavily throughout the day including commercials on some of TNT’s most viewed shows. Most speculation is that since this is the first episode of AEW, it’s being viewed as a PPV level show and not a good representation of future ratings. Whether you’re a fan of NXT, AEW or both, there’s no denying that last night was a good night for wrestling fans.

In another ratings note, over half a million people tuned in to see Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair on Monday Night Raw and left immediately after. No one has moved the needle nearly as much as those two in recent memory. Even an appearance from Stone Cold Steve Austin a few weeks ago didn’t get the same jump in numbers as these two.

We’ll keep everyone updated on the Nielsen ratings as soon as they’re available.
