While there was a rumor floating around that NJPW head booker Gedo was interested in working with AEW, a new report from the Wrestling Observer explains that both sides still have no current intention for a future collaboration. AEW superstar Kenny Omega did hint at a possible storyline with former Golden Lover and this year’s NJPW G1 Climax winner Kota Ibushi in his entrance on Wednesday’s Dynamite, but reports are that was more specific for Omega’s journey, and no plan for Ibushi to wrestle in AEW is in the works. The idea behind the entrance was a continuation of the “Kenny’s Quest” NJPW video package, which was based on the hit video game, Undertale. Story-wise, it tells how Omega was nearly brainwashed by NJPW to stay, and help them invade the American and U.K. markets, but Omega instead chose to remain loyal to his friends.
