AJ Styles who’s a 19-year veteran of the professional wrestling industry, won his first WWE Championship in September of last year by dethroning Dean Ambrose, then went on to lose his belt to John Cena in January of this year. He’s currently involved in a feud against WWE’s part-owner, on-screen SmackDown commissioner and part-time performer Shane McMahon.

Wrestlemania 33 will mark Styles’ first appearance at The Showcase of the Immortals, in a singles matchup against Shane O’Mac. Now although it’s more than obvious that the WWE would ‘put over’ Styles with a win over Shane, what’s  interesting is that they intend to use the momentum from his Mania win to once again include him into the WWE Championship picture.

It’s safe to say that this year’s Mania bookings have been less than stellar, to put it mildly. But with that being said, when Styles beats Shane O’Mac on the grandest stage of them all, the WWE will manage to ‘get him over’ with the millions and millions of fans that’ll tune in. That in turn, would somewhat justify his quick re-inclusion into SmackDown’s post-Mania championship storyline, given that he just lost the strap this January.
