WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is Raw’s general manager, but he is reportedly expected to return to in-ring competition in the near future to face Triple H.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlingInc.com’s Marc Middleton), it isn’t yet known when or how the match will come together, but it may be linked to a current scandal storyline involving the Olympic gold medalist.

Several weeks ago, Raw commentator Corey Graves showed Angle something potentially incriminating on his phone.

Angle has been preoccupied with it since then, which has led to plenty of speculation about where it’s leading.

Since Stephanie McMahon is Raw’s commissioner, it makes sense that she and Triple H could be behind it, especially since they have been off television since WrestleMania.

Angle has often expressed interest in wrestling since returning to WWE but said he was never guaranteed anything other than a Hall of Fame induction.

The 48-year-old veteran has been open about his battles with injuries and addiction over the years; however, those issues haven’t surfaced in quite some time.

Angle last wrestled in a WWE ring in 2006 before leaving the company and spending over a decade with TNA Impact Wrestling.

The American Hero has a long history with Triple H, as the pair have faced each other many times over the years, including in bouts with the WWE Championship on the line.
