Alexa Bliss was happy that she was drafted on the same brand as her friend and tag-team partner, Nikki Cross, during night one of the 2019 WWE Draft on the sophomore edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown On FOX this week. She is, however, not thrilled to be unsure what the future holds for the WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championships at this point in time.
Bliss, as well as Cross, will be remaining with the red brand after being drafted to WWE RAW during night one of the 2019 WWE Draft on this week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown On FOX. Following the show, Bliss spoke in an interview backstage at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada for a “Xfinity Rapid Reaction” video.
During the interview, “The Goddess of WWE” questioned which brand the WWE Women’s Tag-Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors will end up on, and if she and Cross will be forced to venture over to the scene on WWE Friday Night SmackDown On FOX to reclaim the titles if Asuka and Kairi Sane get drafted to the blue brand during night two of the 2019 WWE Draft.
“I’m really happy to be on Monday Night RAW still, and more importantly, I’m glad that Nikki and I are still on the same brand,” said Bliss regarding she and Cross both being drafted to the red brand this week. “That would’ve been really bad if we were drafted to different brands.”
From there, Bliss would go on to speculate what it would mean for her goal to recapture the WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championships if the reigning title-holders are drafted to the opposite brand during night two of the 2019 WWE Draft, which takes place this coming Monday night on WWE RAW.
“You know, I’m just … I’m curious as to what that means for the tag-team championships depending on where The Kabuki Warriors go,” Bliss said during her backstage interview after WWE Friday Night SmackDown On FOX. “I know Nikki and I really want to get those titles back, so does that mean we’ll have to go to SmackDown to try to get those back, or RAW? Who knows? But, we’ll figure it out.”
Before wrapping up the brief one-on-one discussion, the interviewer for the “Xfinity Rapid Reaction” segment then asked Bliss if it was a “hidden blessing for the locker room’s sake” that she and Cross were drafted onto the same brand.
“We have each other’s backs,” Bliss said with a smirk before adding, “and what’s a locker room without your best friend, you know? So, I’m pretty happy about that.”
