Darius Slay weighs in on Browns top receiver and his contract rumors

Sometimes teams (and people) do not have a clear understanding of what they have until it is gone. Cleveland Browns fans hope they do not end up in that boat, the same one the Dallas Cowboys did, with WR Amari Cooper. Cooper has posted back-to-back seasons of over 1,100 yards receiving but is entering the final year of his contract.

While rumors are minimal, as no one expects him to be traded, there is a report that the two sides disagree on the length of the contract. Cooper made it clear he wants ‘to get paid’ but that doesn’t mean these types of unrealistic trade proposals will work.

Philadelphia Eagles CB Darius Slay weighed in on the Browns top receiver while talking to former NFL star Chris Long. Not only does Slay say Cooper is underrated but notes that he is “unappreciated” and that Cleveland “needs to pay that man:”

Unfortunately for the Browns, receiver contracts have skyrocketed in the last couple of seasons. Unfortunately for Cooper, at 30 years old it might be tough to garner the kind of long-term deal that he might like along with the type of salary he might be seeking.

Do you think Amari Cooper is “unappreciated” around the league? Any other receivers you think are overlooked as much or more?
