A few weeks back I asked you how concerned you were in the state of the Brandon Aiyuk contract negotiations.

Well it hasn’t even been a month and we’re back at it again after podcasts, TikTok posts and the obviouis analyisis you’ve come to expect.

So does this make it a new landscape for the Brandon Aiyuk negotiations? Let’s chat about it.

Turns out Brandon Aiyuk joined Ryan Clark on The Pivot podcast and said a lot more on his side of the story, the leaked negotiations and other things. Then there’s a TMZ report where he says he wants to stay on the 49ers.

So really, we don’t know what to believe.

At this point, I feel as if the 49ers can still get a deal done, even if there’s a few more dollars invovlved. Friend of the site, Jason Hurley, who runs 49ers cap wrote something that not only factors Aiyuk’s salary in, but also how they can keep the core together even after a lucrative contract. I wanted to pull a single paragraph in for this post but Jason was so detailed I recommend just reading how the 49ers could structure the deal together.

But right now we still have no Aiyuk signing. As I’ve said when we last did this, I wasn’t too worried, yet. The deal is difficult and there are going to be a bunch of details they will fight over. Aiyuk hasn’t missed training camp, yet.
