FightFul.com is reporting that the reason the WWE added Asuka to the Women’s Title match at Tables, Ladders & Chairs was because of the overwhelmingly positive reaction she received during the Smackdown before Survivor Series when it was announced that Charlotte would take Becky Lynch’s place against Ronda Rousey.
During the segment, Becky Lynch stopped in front of every female superstar on the Smackdown roster and the fans responded accordingly. Apparently, Vince McMahon was floored at Asuka’s reaction – more specifically the fact that she received more cheers than Charlotte.
As a result, he made the decision to capitalize on her popularity and include her in the Women’s Title match at Tables, Ladders & Chairs.
