As noted before, Finn Balor missed Saturday’s WWE Smackville live event due to being hospitalized with a stomach flu.

In an update, Fightful reports that Balor was actually at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for Smackville, and many were informed for the first time that he’d been sick and hospitalized when he arrived. The decision was then made to pull Balor from his match with Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, replacing him with Ali. WWE officials reportedly realized Balor had left the arena when they went to film a segment where Nakamura would have taken him out. Balor reportedly did not know of the plans, and there was no malice on his part.

Balor did not wrestle at Sunday’s WWE live event and was not backstage. Stay tuned for updates on his status and planned SummerSlam match against Bray Wyatt.
