Beastcoast Re-Signs Major-Winning Roster For Three Years

on

Beastcoast has just announced the re-signing of the full roster that lifted the trophy at the BLAST R6 Manchester Major in May. The five-man squad dominated the competition and wiped the floor with Team BDS in the grand final, producing a stellar result that saw the organisation claim its first major win. Recently, it was revealed that Beastcoast will partner with Cloud9 in the Rainbow Six Siege space, forming a dual-branded organisation that’ll get Cloud9 access to the Esports World Cup.

It’s an unusual turn of events for the esports scene – three-year contracts are extremely rare. It’s indicative of the faith that Beastcoast has in this roster, which demonstrated impeccable chemistry during the BLAST R6 Major Manchester last month. Going forward, Hotancold, Gunnar, Dfuzr, Spiritz, and Gaveni will all have a spot in the Rainbow Six ecosystem, with Froshii also getting a three-year contract.

Climbing the Ranks

Beastcoast entered the BLAST R6 Major Manchester with relatively low expectations weighing against them. However, the squad performed a beautiful run, taking down some of the biggest organisations in Rainbow Six esports, marching to the grand final and effortlessly dealing with Team BDS. During the tournament, I got to sit down with the tournament MVP, Gunnar, who spoke highly of his teammates and the organisation.

Manchester marked the first major win for Beastcoast, but it’s unlikely to be the last. Soon, it’s expected that the team will appear at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. This is the biggest esports event in history, boasting a record $60 million prize pool – a fair chunk of which is reserved for Rainbow Six Siege. That’s partly why Cloud9 merged with Beastcoast recently – to get a foothold in the Rainbow Six space.

Plenty sits on the horizon for Rainbow Six Siege. Recently, Ubisoft uncovered the EU T2 roadmap, highlighting exciting changes to the lower-level competitive ecosystem for Rainbow Six. Before long, we’ll be settling down to enjoy another Six Invitational – in 2025, it’s going to the United States, so Beastcoast will be playing on home turf, if the team manages to qualify.
