Big Cass was a guest on Booker T’s podcast “Heated Conversations”. When asked about his release from WWE, Cass said that WWE did the right thing by firing him. Here is the transcript quote (credit to WrestlingInc):
“If I’m going to be honest with you, I made a lot of mistakes. I made a lot of mistakes in a very short period of time. I did some things that I shouldn’t have done. I guess the company couldn’t rely on me and couldn’t trust me. Look, I’ll just be honest with you, in my opinion, they made the right decision for them. It was the right decision to get rid of me at that point in time – not to say I won’t be back – but at that point in time they definitely made the right decision for them. To be honest with you, looking at it they made the right decision for me. Everyone makes mistakes, but when you make that many mistakes in that short of a period of time then you lose people’s trust and you’re not reliable anymore. … I definitely would have fired myself. If I was in Vince McMahon’s position, I would have fired myself for sure, one-hundred percent.”
Booker T shifts the conversation to Enzo Amore. Booker asks Cass about the possibility of reuniting with Enzo. Cass says that is highly unlikely to happen because he and Enzo do not stay in contact and they are not friends. Cass did joke and say if the money is right, yeah. Booker asks Cass to rate Enozo’s rap skills. Cass says that he barely knows anything about Enzo’s rapping career as Real 1. Booker is mystified that Cass is not aware of Real 1’s success. Cass says that since his release he has not watched one second of wrestling and is pretty much out of the loop with the current WWE happenings. Booker extends an invite to Cass to come and train at his school to refine some of his skills, citing past wrestlers such as Bobby Lashley and MVP who have trained with him.
