Bill Goldberg is one of the biggest superstars heading into WrestleMania 33. He has only wrestled twice since returning last October, but he’s been quite a success in the WWE. He is being linked to a Universal Title Match against Kevin Owens at Fastlane and it could be a squash match.

The 50-year-old superstar returned to the WWE after 12 years on May 31, 2016 as the pre-order bonus for the WWE 2K17 video game. He officially returned as part of the WWE main roster on October 17, 2016.

Goldberg then faced Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series and he came out triumphant. The match only lasted one minute and 26 seconds, as Goldberg squashed Lesnar. He then went on a long break before announcing his participation in the 2017 Royal Rumble Match.

The former WCW and WWE world champion only lasted three minutes and 21 seconds before getting eliminated by The Undertaker, per WWE.com. However, he was able to eliminate three superstars including “The Beast” who was dominated once again.

Lesnar has now issued a challenge to Goldberg in a match at WrestleMania 33. Goldberg will surely give his answer this week on Monday Night Raw, but he could also be booked to face Kevin Owens for the Universal championship at Fastlane.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, the rumored match between Owens and Goldberg is not expected to last more than ten minutes, per Sportskeeda. There is also the possibility of doing a squash match like with Goldberg vs. Lesnar at Survivor Series.

The rumor has a lot of fans worried for Owens since he will look even weaker as the Universal champion if he gets squashed by a 50-year-old part-timer. The length of the match is not a big surprise since Goldberg’s cardio is non-existent.

Goldberg is already gassed after his entrance and he surely can’t wrestle for more than ten minutes. However, it should be noted that these are just rumors at the moment and nothing has been confirmed. The WWE has not finalized the plans for Fastlane but fans should expect more progress this week on Raw.
