Former WWE superstar CM Punk made a surprising wrestling return this past weekend at an MKE event in Milwaukee. Punk ran in with a mask on to hit his signature GTS before fleeing the arena immediately after. Now reports are coming out stating that his wasn’t even the first time this has happened.
According to Fightful, Punk appeared at a Freelance Wrestling show in December of 2015 where he managed Kikutaro in a bout against Dick Justice and Darin Corbin. Commentary referred to him as a nameless mentor, as he was under a cloak and hood.
By the way, this was CM Punk, too. No I'm not joking. Here's my story on the matter, as we posted earlier on Select. https://t.co/CHusDFY0Rx pic.twitter.com/aSZKvMHY1o

Robbie Fox from Barstool Sports would reveal on Twitter that Punk has steadily been making these cameos at wrestling events for years, and that he would appear on Wrestling Road DIaries 3 featured alongside his then-friend, Colt Cabana. Due to his falling out with Cabana, the footage never surfaced. See Fox’s tweet below.
This isn't the first time Punk has done this, for what it's worth. He's appeared at indie shows as a masked character for YEARS now 🤫 https://t.co/j4ZzaWjqfM
