Cody leans into the Homelander jokes in new ad for The Boys

on

During his AEW run, Cody Rhodes debuted the first version of the entrance gear he still uses to this day as WWE champion. And from the first time people saw it, there were comparisons to and jokes about how much it looked Homelander’s costume in Amazon’s hit series, The Boys.

It worked in AEW, too. Because for the latter half of his run, Cody was a villain who thought he was hero, just like Antony Starr’s Superman analogue in the superhero satire based on the comic book series of the same name.

For WWE, Rhodes plays more of an actual hero than an ironic one, which makes the comparisons a bit weird. Regardless, the champ isn’t shying away from them in a new online ad he’s done for The Boys. On the contrary, he’s leaning all the way into them… although he does position himself as the Bizarro Homelander, potentially setting up a feud with Starr’s character.

What do you think Homelander wants to talk about? I’m guessing milkshakes. Fresh, homemade ones.
