On Weds. July 10, AEW will head to Calgary. That’s Hart Country, and for the second straight year it’s where they’ll hold the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments.

This Wednesday, they held two semi-final matches — so we know one of the men and one of the women who will be wrestling for an Owen Cup, and a World title shot at August’s All In PPV in London.

Bryan Danielson & PAC was the first match on July 3’s Beach Break show from Chicago. Danielson was selling his neck issues, aggravated in his first round match against New Japan’s Shingo Takagi just three days ago at Forbidden Door. The Bastard was in control for most of the first half of the match as a result.

The American Dragon’s first comeback was ended with a thrust kick from PAC, which he followed up with two elbow drops and a tombstone piledriver.

But Bryan would not stay down, and quickly transitioned to a LeBell Lock. They went back and forth, and it looked like Danielson would win it with a Busaiku Knee. But when he went to cover, the Brit grabbed him for a Brutalizer. That led to a rapid exchange of pinning maneuvers, and it was Bryan who ended up on top.

The medical team rushed to check on the winner, who will face either Jay White or the winner of tonight’s Jeff Jarrett vs. “Wild Card” match in the finals next week.

Ahead of the women’s semi, Willow Nightingale cut a promo about why she was still fighting — even after losing her precious TBS championship, and her best friend. That former friend was also her opponent tonight, Kris Statlander.

Stat didn’t wait for Willow to get down the ramp before attacking, but got pounced for her effort. Stokely Hathaway’s client quickly gained control when the match officially started in the ring, though. Nightingale mounted a comeback coming out of commercial, leveling Statlander with a cannonball off the apron.

They then traded big shots in the ring, and when one of Stat’s didn’t get three, Hathaway conspired to slip her a chain. Nightingale dodged that, causing Kris to have to pull up short so as to not strike Stoke. Willow capitalized, folding Statlander up to advance to Owen finals for the second year in a row.

She’ll try to win another Cup next week against the winner of Mariah May vs. Hijkaru Shida, this Friday on Rampage.
