According to PW Insider, NXT UK stars Joseph Conners, Ligero, Saxton Huxley, Ilja Dragunov, Xia Brookside and women’s division champion Kay Lee Ray were pulled from Southside Wrestling’s final show due to the promotion’s alliance with Revolution Pro. Once WWE higher-ups determined that RevPro would essentially be running the Southside event, they wouldn’t allow their talents to appear. Reports are that because of the Aaren Wilde referee incident, WWE felt that the environment was unpredictable, and didn’t want to risk any unwarranted injuries to talent. AEW’s Cody Rhodes would later assist Southside, sending them stars Shawn Spears and MJF to appear at the final event.
