In the United Arab Emirates it is head to head between two great protagonists of the Ryder Cup in Rome, Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy. At the end of the “moving day” of the Dubai Invitational, the Englishman with a bogey free round of 63 (-8), supported by eight birdies, and a total of 198 (66 69 63, -15), overtook the Northern Irishman, already leader halfway through the race and now 2nd with 199 (-14). While in 3rd position with 201 (-12) here is the Dane Thorbjorn Olesen.

In the DP World Tour tournament, at the Dubai Creek Resort (par 71), Francesco Molinari gained four positions, from 15th to 11th with 206 (68 70 68, -7) after a third round of 68 (-3 ), with four birdies and a bogey. Behind him, 21st with 208 (70 70 68, -5), here is Guido Migliozzi from Vicenza, protagonist with three birdies, without bogey.
On the one hand, Fleetwood, a 32-year-old from Southport who last October in Rome scored the point that certified the success of team Europe in the 44th edition of the Ryder Cup. On the other McIlroy, 34 year old from Holywood, world number 2, five times best player in Europe and emblem of continental golf. In Dubai there is a show challenge between two big names on the green.
The first written mention of Dubai dates back to 1095, while the settlement known as a city dates back to 1798. The oldest building is the al Fahīdī fort, built in 1787, which currently houses the Dubai Museum. Previously, in the 18th century, the Āl Bū Falāsa family, belonging to the Banu Yas tribe, had settled in the area.
In the early 19th century the Banu Yas formally established the city of Dubai and held it under their control until the United Kingdom assumed guardianship in 1892. Its geographical location made it an important center for trade and its port began to develop from the beginning of the 20th century.
The city remained dependent on Abu Dhabi until 1833.
It is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf of the United Arab Emirates, approximately above sea level, and covers an area of 4,114 km2, significantly expanded compared to the initial one (3,900 km2) thanks to reclamation interventions.
The emirate of Dubai borders Abu Dhabi to the south, Sharjah to the north-east and the Persian Gulf along the entire western coast. Hatta, a minor exclave of Dubai, is surrounded on three sides by Oman and borders the emirates of Ajman to the west and Ras al-Khaima to the north.
It is located within the Arabian Desert, but the topography differs significantly from that of the southern part of the United Arab Emirates: much of Dubai’s landscape is characterized by sand dunes, while the south of the country is characterized by typical rocky deserts.
