Echo Signs Neverland World First Raid Team for FFXIV: Dawntrail

on

Echo Esports, multiple-time world first race winners in World of Warcraft, have announced the signing of world first raid team Neverland for the release of Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail. The reveal came on June 26, across socials, as the storied raiding and gaming organization expands its reach.

Echo will officially compete in the first Race for World First (RWF) of FFXIV: Dawntrail in the Arcadian (Savage) raid series that releases on July 30 with patch 7.05.

Echo/Neverland will be streaming their progressive live on their Twitch channel, something that isn’t always done in Final Fantasy XIV raiding. Instead, teams sometimes keep their raid progress unstreamed because of the highly competitive nature of top-level raiding.

With Echo and Neverland teaming up, two of the most successful raid teams in both World of Warcraft and FFXIV are now under the same banner. Echo has a history of world first clears in WoW, having most recently claimed victory in Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope, the final Mythic raid of WoW: Dragonflight.

Neverland, a Japanese raiding static, are also recent winners of world first races, having taken the crown in Pandaemonium: Anabaseios (Savage) in FFXIV: Endwalker patch 6.4. The team also cleared Final Fantasy XIV Dragonsong War Ultimate first, a raid many considered to be one of the most challenging pieces of content ever released for FFXIV.

This also isn’t Echo’s first run-in with FFXIV. Echo co-founder and WoW raid leader Scripe has also dabbled with FFXIV’s Savage and Ultimate raids when time allowed him. His streams for FFXIV drew praise from fans and top-level raiders alike, with the Echo leader clearly having a soft spot for the game’s content.

Overall this is a huge move for the sometimes niche world of top-level FFXIV raiding. With statics (guilds) often not streaming their progress, lineups made up of unknown players, and coverage limited to a small (but incredibly talented and dedicated) community, Echo’s official entry to the FFXIV raiding scene could be the start of something special. And it’s just one more reason to get excited for Dawntrail, as if we didn’t have enough already.
