WWE Hall of Famer Edge reportedly signed a new WWE contract after negotiating with both WWE and AEW, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This led to Edge, who turns 46 later this month, receiving a significant offer from WWE to stay.
The idea of having Edge has been discussed very privately, according to the report. Edge recently performed a Spear on Elias at SummerSlam and was cleared for the move after years of not being cleared for anything. It has not been confirmed that he will wrestle again, but it has been at least discussed. There’s still no confirmation that he will be cleared for an actual match. People in WWE creative, who would be kept in the dark until it happened anyway, are still under the impression that Edge will never be cleared to wrestle again.
Edge recently left his podcast with Christian, but Christian will keep it going. Edge noted on a recent show that he could do a WWE match, but likely would be blown up. He added that he believes WWE doctors wouldn’t allow it though.
