Everything We Know About the Overwatch Transformers Collab

on

A new collaboration is coming to Overwatch in Season 11! The Overwatch Transformers collab, another crossover with a separate media franchise for OW 2. This time it’s with the Transformers series. An Overwatch transformers collab probably wasn’t on many people’s bingo cards for this season, but it’s an interesting collab.

The next big update is coming on June 9th for Overwatch. We’re only a little way into this season, with the Pink Mercy skin back and other new features. However, by the 9th we’ll be getting a brand new collab.

Overwatch has already had a few of these. We’ve seen Cowboy Bebop skins, and other crossovers over the seasons. This season’s is with the iconic transforming cars franchise. What exactly is coming with this new collab though?

What’s In the Overwatch Transformers Collab

The Overwatch Transformers Collab is the next collaboration coming to the game, expected to launch around the same time as the Summer Games event. This will be another crossover in line with what we saw in past collabs. These crossovers tend to feature a few things.

The center point of them is skins. Overwatch skins are a bit different though. Since this is a Hero shooter. They can’t port the character over wholesale like we see in Fortnite. Instead, the skins tend to resemble our Overwatch Heroes doing cosplay of characters from a different franchise.

In this case, we can likely expect to some characters made up like Transformers. The bulkier Tank characters and some other robots seem like natural fits. We’ll probably see tone of these made to resemble Optimus Prime and possibly some other transformers too.

The crossover usually focuses on paid skins. Although, there’s often an option for players to unlock the more basic item for free too.

We don’t know exactly what the skins will be yet or what characters are getting them. We’ll learn more once we get to the update for the event on July 9th. There’s plenty happening in Overwatch 2 over the coming month though.
